Celebration! was commissioned the Brevard Chamber Orchestra and premiered on September 27, 1998 during the opening concert of the Paul Porter Center for Perfoming Arts at Brevard College. The premiere performance was conducted by Virginia Tillotson. Jon Gudmondson, alto saxophone, and Joan Yarbrough, piano, were featured soloists. All are members of the music faculty of Brevard College.
